Each month we meet from 2-3pm to host a Birthday Club and all residents are invited to celebrate upcoming birthdays as they receive a Golden Pack of Hope as a gift from our organization. We need volunteers to help serve cake and socialize with the residents. This is a perfect way for your family (even the little ones), small group, or scout troop to participate together. Rake-Up Colorado

The Volunteers of America Safety of Seniors Handyman Program is excited to announce the 11^th annual Rake-Up Colorado event, which will help limited-income seniors in the community with leaf raking. This exciting event will be taking place on Saturday, November 2^nd, 2013. Rake-Up Colorado is among the many services offered to seniors by the Safety of Seniors Handyman Program, including minor repairs and safety modifications in the home. All services are intended to keep seniors living safely and independently in their home.

Volunteers Needed

Not sure where to start?  Come spend the most rewarding hour giving back to the community on the first Saturday of each month from 2-3pm as we host a birthday party for residents in a local Arvada nursing home.  We bring cake and socialize with some of the neatest folks you will ever meet.  We celebrate all the birthdays for the upcoming month and hand out Golden Packs to the birthday people.  Your small group or family can host, let us know what month your group is available.  Please, please let me know if you play a musical instrument and would like to share your talents with the residents for one of the parties.  For more info contact us at golden@packsofhope.org.

Cool Down & Be Safe

The Safety of Seniors Handyman Program at Volunteers of America is excited to announce the 11^th annual Cool Down & Be Safe, Colorado! The purpose of this event is to help protect seniors during the hot summer months by providing one free fan. Volunteers will deliver the fans to the homes of seniors, age 60 or older, who reside in Adams, Arapahoe, Denver, Douglas, Jefferson, Clear Creek and Gilpin counties. Summit on Aging - June 25,2013
